ABOUT

Making Music On Purpose.

Angelo Natalie’s passion for songwriting began in seventh grade when he wrote “I’m Lonely” just after his first heartbreak. He sang and played drums in rock bands throughout high school, which led him to major in music education at Edinboro State College (now PennWest Edinboro). During that time, he performed four nights a week in the house band of an after-hours club in his hometown of Erie, Pennsylvania.

He later moved to Akron, Ohio, joining an originals band with professional management. The sudden death of a close friend became the turning point of Angelo’s life, leading to a dramatic personal conversion and a new creative focus on faith-inspired music. He returned to Erie to form Clockwise, a progressive gospel-rock band that recorded one album produced by Grammy-winning guitarist Al Perkins—seven of the nine songs written by Angelo.

When Clockwise disbanded in 1980, he founded Buon Natalie Music, a jingle company that produced several local commercials in Erie before landing him an interview at Hummingbird Productions—the leading ad-music house in Nashville at the time. His first assignment, a 30-second spot for Purina’s Bonz dog treats, was selected over submissions from the in-house staff and became Hummingbird’s biggest national campaign that year. Angelo continued composing for Hummingbird in Nashville before being asked to head its New York office, creating music for brands including Cabbage Patch Kids, Pepsi, Dodge, and Pizza Hut.

After five years with Hummingbird, Angelo returned to freelancing under the Buon Natalie Music banner. His clients have included A&E, AMC, Nickelodeon, and Pizza Hut. His songs have appeared in Barney & Friends and BOZ: The Green Bear Next Door, with nearly seventy of his titles featured internationally across television and streaming releases for those two series. His song “It’s C-C-Cold Burr” was performed live on national television during the 2004 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

A singer-songwriter who also leads worship, Angelo’s original praise songs are known for their singable melodies and heartfelt sincerity—music that flows from a lifestyle of worship and decades of service in both liturgical and contemporary congregations. He has served as Music Director at Living Hope Community Church in Old Greenwich, Connecticut since 1991, and previously directed the Teen Mass program at St. Aloysius Church in New Canaan, where he composed complete Mass settings and responsorial psalms.

In 2023, Angelo graduated summa cum laude from Western Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Music in Audio & Music Production. Today, his focus is on publishing his growing catalog of songs for worship and children, while also mentoring a small circle of young musicians who share his passion for creating original music that moves hearts and uplifts minds.
